Get the federal government out of environmental control

Federal legislation and funding has created a department that to keep itself funded for more employees and equipment has and is using my tax money to create emergency alert media releases which of course are always "good" for especially the radio and television which can dramatize anything into a crisis. Drama of destruction real or imagined grabs the eye and ear of the listener and discussion of this can keep the mind focused on a most mundane issue in this way.

Any action which is required by federal legislation will charge any amount of money and request an increasing number of people to enlarge the department and its office/lab.

Federal involvement in our environment is what we do not want. I understand that Congressman Ensign voted to eliminate federal testing of water for contaminants which are never in an area.

State testing of water for Nevada contaminants is the procedure which Nevada consumers prefer.

Environment is not a federal issue and the sincerity and fiscal integrity of those who dramatize something as a crisis or potential crisis needs to be questioned by the consumer and taxpayer.

A federal requirement is a signal to charge whatever they'll pay and since it is my money, the sky is the limit. Note that federal subsidies have allowed medical costs to daily add more digits for products and services.
