Jaycee’s State Fair on tap at Cashman

Stages will include a variety of entertainment, as well as a children's theater, numerous strolling acts, jugglers and live animals.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children.

Tuesday is "Kids Day" through the Clark County School District. Each student will get in free. That evening on the outside main stage, KLUC 98.5-FM will host the Fair Queen Finals. Marian Miller, the 1995 Fair Queen, will crown this year's winner.

To top off the night, the Bayside Boys perform their No. 1 hit, "Macarena."

On Wednesday will be a Canned Food Drive at the fair. Bring a can of food to the Promotions Desk at Cashman Field and receive $2 off your day's admission. Wednesday is also McDonald's Kids Day, sponsored by McDonald's and the Fox 5 Kids' Club. Clark County students can pick up tickets at McDonald's for free admission

On the stage, it will be Stan Rankin's "Reggae and Blues Night."

Thursday will be KWNR's 95.5-FM "Country Night," located at the main stage. Entertainment will include Celia Rose, Country Star Dancers and line dancing. It is also "Casino Night." All casino employees can bring their casino identification to the promotions desk to receive $2 off adult admission.

Quiet Riot is the featured act on the main stage for "Rock Night," Oct. 11, put on by KOMP 92.3-FM. At 7 p.m., the band will play their hits, including "Cum on Feel the Noize" and "Bang Your Head."

The outdoor stage on Oct. 12, KOOL 105.5-FM sponsors "Beattle and Stone." Dancers can "Twist and Shout" with all their "Heart N Soul."

The State Fair finishes up on Oct. 13 with "Senior Day" and "Latin Day" at the Inside-Out Exhibit Hall, seniors can enjoy a free pancake breakfast served by the Boy Scouts, Tomahawk District and a Dixie Jazz Band sponsored by the Gold Coast. Seniors get in free from noon until 2 p.m.

Latin Day, hosted by Telemundo and Super Q Radio, will feature Mariachi bands and Latin bands.

Throughout all six days, fair-goers can participate in various indoor and outdoor contests:

Spaghetti Eating Contest: 9 p.m. Tuesday, 7 p.m. Wednesday, 5 p.m. Thursday, 9 p.m. Oct. 11, 1 and 9 p.m. Oct. 12, and 5 p.m. Oct. 13.

Pumpkin Carving: 6 p.m. Tuesday, 8 p.m. Wednesday, 3 and 10 p.m. Oct. 12, and 4 and 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

Marshmallow Building: 8 p.m. Tuesday, 9 p.m. Wednesday, 6 p.m. Thursday, 10 p.m. Oct. 11, 2 and 8 p.m. Oct. 12, and 3 and 8 p.m. Oct. 13.

Hula Hoop Contest: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 2:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Big Wheels Contest: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, 8:30 p.m. Wednesday; 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 8:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Pickle Eating Contest: 7 p.m. Tuesday, 5 p.m. Wednesday; 9 p.m. Thursday, 7 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, and 2 p.m. Oct. 13.

Waterballoon Toss: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday; 3:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Pie Eating Contest: 5 p.m. Tuesday, 7 p.m. Thursday, 5 p.m. Oct. 11, 4 p.m. Oct. 12, and 1 p.m. Oct. 13.

Back Seat Driver: 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Oct. 11, 8:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Sand Castle Building: 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11, and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Banana Dressing Contest: 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, 8 p.m. Thursday, and 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

Simon Says: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Smash Cans Contest: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Ice Cream Toss: 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Whip Cream Beard: 8 p.m. Oct. 11, and 5 p.m. Oct. 12.

Twister Contest: 9:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

Limbo Contest: 10:30 p.m. Oct. 12.
