Company honored for development of “high risk” glove

The J. Edgar Hoover Distinguished Public Service Award was presented on Friday by Gerald S. Arenberg to Microflex Medical Corp., which developed the Synetron glove.

"There are silent killers on our streets - AIDS, hepatitis and other blood-borne pathogens - which are everyday hazards for police," he said. "Microflex is being honored for improving the safety of working law enforcement professionals."

Synetron gloves are reinforced with a bonded polymer lining that increases the strength of latex and its resistance to punctures and tearing while retaining much of thinner gloves' sensitivity for delicate investigative work.
