Letter: Endless local growth has not enriched quality of life

What has eluded us (the citizens) so far has been strong, decisive leadership who know that managing and controlling the growth both in the city and county, are of paramount importance.

I disagree with Brian when he says, "In the end, growth pays for itself but the up-front costs must be invested in anticipation of that growth." I don't know about him, but every time I turn around I am being asked to lay out more money for schools, police, firemen, etc. If growth pays for itself then stay out of my pocket. The only people I see making money out of the growth is the casinos, builders and politicians. All of this growth has sure not enriched my life any. In response to Brian's question, "So what's it going to be?" I say, controlled, proper, prudent planning and managed growth along with strong, honest leadership.
