Classical guitarist Richter will perform at Whipple

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and disabled. Tickets at the door are $12 and $10. respectively.

The first half of Richter's program will include "Dance From Terpsichore" by Praetorius and "A Dream in the Forest" by Barrios. The second half of the program will feature treasures of Spain including "Capricho Arabe" by Tarrega, "Serenata Espanola" by Malais and "Malaguena" by Albeniz.

Richter, whose technical proficiency and interpretive skills are praised by critics, studied with Andres Segovia, the late master classical guitarist. He has performed throughout the United States and Europe. His live, solo performances have been broadcast on television and radio nationwide, by NPR -- "Performance Today"; CBC -- Arts National (Canada); RAI Television -- "In Concerto" (Italy); and the Hungarian National Television.

Richter is a four-time first-prize winner in competitions, including the 20th International Guitar Competition in Milan, Italy, and the National Wurlitzer Artist Competition in the U.S. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including a Solo Recitalist Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and has recorded three albums.
