Broadcast planned on drinking water

People concerned about Southern Nevada's drinking water may join a live, interactive satellite broadcast designed to teach communities how to take action to protect their public supplies.

"Tools for Drinking Water Protection" is a major public education initiative. After the broadcast at UNLV, a panel discussion is planned with invited panelists from Friends of the Desert Wetlands, Nevada Seniors Coalition, Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Clark County Sanitation District.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Las Vegas Valley and the UNLV Environmental Studies Department, the broadcast is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 19 in the Classroom Building Complex, B113. Registration is $8, including lunch.

There is free parking in the Thomas & Mack Center Green Lot. Registration deadline is March 12. To register and for more information, call Kathleen Truman, 895-4457.
