Chamber symphony to give concert

The program begins with Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 by Bach. Then NCS Concertmaster Burger takes the stage, where she will be the featured soloist in Chopin's Nocturne for violin and orchestra as well as Paganini's Capriccio No. 24 and Moto Peretuo. The first half concludes with Concert Valse, Op. 21 by Rebikoff.

Following a brief intermission, the orchestra returns with Haydn's Divertimento in D. Guest artist Smith, joined by NCS principal cellist Gurley, will perform Vivaldi's Concerto in G minor for two cellos and orchestra. Next, harpist Kimberly De Libero will perform "Danses Sacree and Profane" by Debussy.

The concert will end with the entire orchestra performing Sibelius' "Andante Festivo."

Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors, military personnel and handicapped; $12 for Friends of the Orchestra and students under the age of 18 are $5. For further information, call the symphony at 433-9280.
