* ART SHOW -- The 12th Clark County Art Show still has space available for local artists. Show dates are April 26-27 in Boulder City. Only fine art will be accepted, no crafts and participants must be residents of Southern Nevada. There will be cash and merchandise awards given as well as purchase awards by local merchants and art galleries. Artists interested in participating in the show should call Boulder City Art Guild 293-2038 for an application.

* ASTHMA SCHOLARSHIPS -- The 1997 "Will to Win" Asthma Athlete Scholarship Program has generated more than 4,000 application requests from around the country -- and many more are expected by the March 31 filing deadline. The nationwide program is sponsored by the Schering/KEY Corporation of Madison, N.J., leaders in the field of asthma therapy, treatment and education. Now in its 13th year, the program honors 10 high school seniors who have achieved academic and athletic excellence in spite of the challenge of asthma. For details, call (800) 558-7305.

* BOOK SALE -- Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas' 15th annual used-book sale will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 outside the Vons supermarket in the Sahara Pavilion at the corner of Sahara and Decatur. All proceeds will benefit Soroptimist's combined charities. For more information, call 362-7666.

* BLUES BENEFIT -- Longtime Las Vegas blues support and musician Vinnie St. George is ill and has lost most of his hearing. There will be a benefit to raise enough money to purchase a hearing aid for him from 5:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at the Sand Dollar Blues Lounge, 3355 W. Spring Mountain Road. The following bands will play: Blue Cherry & Friends, the Shuffle-aires, Jimmy Lee & Wild Card, the Last Band, the Ruffnecks, John Earl & the Boogie Man Band, and Red Hot Blues Band.
