Letter: Schools are the wrong places for vocal religion

Prayer belongs at home or at places of worship. Students go to school to learn and not all pray to the same deity. If you noticed, the president was not in school and the mention of God and the song "God Bless America" were not sung in school. I believe that everyone prays to whoever or whatever they believe in, but as the saying goes, there are no agnostics or atheists in fox holes, so I believe everyone can and does pray for help, guidance and deliverance in their own way. But as far as a moment of silence for prayer, do you remember how quiet things were when a test was given?

I say keep the schools and churches and places of worship separate, and if one must pray, keep it quiet in school and do your thing outside of school.
