Letter: Room tax increase will be paid by customer

"The public will see room taxes as a pass-through tax rather than gaming paying its fair share, which is an increase in the gaming tax."

Anyone who paid attention in Economics 101 knows that all taxes paid by businesses are "pass-through" taxes, because businesses have only one source of revenue: their customers. Whether the tax is separately identified, as are sales and room taxes, or simply paid out of general business revenues, the tax impact on the customer is precisely the same: He pays it all.

So, what's your point, Sen. Titus?
