Sunrise Hospital's Women, Infants and Children program is celebrating National Nutrition Month on Saturday with a free health and information fair.
The fair will start at 10 a.m. at Sunrise's clinic at 2917 W. Washington Ave., near Rancho Drive.
Activities will include distribution of free food samples, meal planning information, breast feeding and prenatal information, as well as immunizations and eye screenings.
WIC Clinic Director Ellen McCollum urges everyone to attend, especially if they are interested in good nutrition as it relates to pregnancy and child development.
"We are planning on giving out samples of foods that are good breakfast ideas," McCollum said. "This is a great opportunity for soon-to-be moms and young parents to see how easy and inexpensive it is to prepare nutritious meals."
WIC representatives also will hand out free Las Vegas Thunder hockey tickets to lucky health fair participants.
