Business up at airline

Business is booming at Eagle Canyon Airlines.

The airline, headquartered at the Las Vegas Executive Air Terminal at McCarran International Airport, began 1997 with a record January for number of passengers carried.

Grant Murray, president, noted that 5,500 passengers flew Eagle Canyon in January on flights between Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Laughlin. This marked a 43 percent increase in passengers carried from a year earlier.

January also represented the 13th consecutive increase in monthly passengers carried, comparing a month to the same period a year earlier.

Last year, more than 90,000 passengers flew Eagle Canyon, a 40 percent increase over the previous year.

Eagle Canyon is a division of the Eagle Aviation Group. Other divisions include Eagle Jet Charter, las Vegas Executive Air Terminal and Morris Travel.
