First things first. The boy should not have been taken from school to Juvenile Hall without contacting his mother; that's an OSS tactic.
Second: If the boy did it, and he admitted to police that he did do it, his parents are responsible, period. If they don't have the money, they must find it.
Too many people are getting into the act and making an O.J. Simpson case out of it. It's a boyhood prank; and no others than the builders and the parents should be involved. No juvenile court, no deputy DA, no trial, no more police. No small wonder our justice system is going to the dogs.
And the not-guilty plea, that's all lawyer crap. The boy admitted he did it, he's guilty, now his parents must pay, one way or another.
