Ameristar, Harrah's, Isle of Capri and Rainbow casinos took in $14 million between Jan. 19-Feb. 15, or an average of $503,110 per day, calculations based on tax revenues show.
The four casinos took in $12.4 million, or an average of $445,300 per day, during a similar 28-day period in 1996.
"The casinos have done a little more marketing and promotions than before," Isle of Capri general manager Roger Deaton said. "I think we're getting a little more aggressive with marketing.
"After a market settles down, after two to three years, you target your marketing," he said.
In spite of increase, the casinos' latest revenue figures are down 6 percent from Christmas and New Year's.
The four casinos won roughly $14.9 million, or $532,512 per day, between Dec. 21-Jan. 18. Deaton said the period between Dec. 26 and New Year's is one of the busiest of the year.
