Police officer pleads innocent in sex case

Arthur Sewall, 30, was arrested in February after a 36-year-old Las Vegas woman told police he treatened her with arrest if she didn't perform a sexual act.

Police set up a videotaped sting operation to verify her claims.

The officer posted bail but was arrested again a few days later after another woman told a similar story.

Police said both women are convicted prostitutes.

Justice of the Peace James Bixler ordered Sewall to stand trial on two counts of kidnapping, three counts of sexual assault and three counts of oppression under the color of office.

Trial is set for June 9 before District Judge Jeffrey Sobel.
