Letter: Unskilled white young people ignored by system

Having worked since I was 15 due to family necessity, I may never qualify for a college education. Unwillingly, I have been a kitchen worker and construction tradesman and have never entered the middle class ($30,000 a year). Of course, I'm ineligible for any government assistance.

Bill Clinton's new dictation has alienated me and others from entry-level government positions, due to sex, race and sexual responsibility. Had nature made my physical appearance different and mother not instilled morals, I could have lived off taxpayer money for the last 13 years and now be guaranteed a government job with benefits, from which I could never be fired.

Our hypocritical White House counterparts speak of "smaller, more efficient government," but let's invest millions in training unqualified individuals (possibly non-Americans in California's case) to keep them on the states' purse strings. Is this fair and just government? It's definitely not good business sense.
