1945 - Maurice Richard of the Montreal Canadiens became the first NHL player to score 50 goals in a season during a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins in the final game of the season.

1950 - CCNY beat Bradley 69-61 to win the NIT championship.

1953 - Don Schlundt scored 30 points, leading Indiana to a 69-68 victory over Kansas for the NCAA basketball championship.
