However, I do find it odd that the district attorney goes on TV to say, "It's a felony and he will be prosecuted." A 9-year-old boy -- a felony for writing his name in cement? A crime?
On Aug. 11, we lost a good friend. He was killed on his Harley Davidson when a 16-year-old boy ran a stop sign. Our friend's eight-months-pregnant wife was on the back of that Harley Davidson. Their five-pound baby boy was born by C-section that night. A friend was following them on his Harley -- 50 feet behind. He nearly laid his bike down trying to avoid the wreck. The only skid marks on the highway were his -- 50 feet long.
The 16-year-old boy got a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. The same district attorney told us, "It's not a crime to run a stop sign even if it results in a death."
