Nevada Power Company experts will explain electric and magnetic fields (EMFs) at two public meetings.
EMFs are invisible lines of force that surround anything carrying electricity and are present in such things as household appliances, home wiring and power lines.
About six months ago, the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences announced that after evaluating more than 50 studies, no sufficient evidence was found to consider EMFs a threat to human health.
The public can hear these study results and ask questions on March 25 at 7 p.m. in the community room of Saturn of Henderson, 310 Gibson Road and again on March 31 at 7 p.m. at Nevada Power Company's Wengert Room, 6226 W. Sahara Ave.
The meetings are free of charge.
