Letter: Contractor was the victim in cement vandalism case

The contractor, Richard Plaster is the VICTIM in this case. It was HIS work that could not be certified by the city after Jeremy scribbled in over 300 feet of it. And no, it is not his responsibility to "guard" the cement until it dries. That's absurd and it simply does not happen in the real world.

As a parent, I would be absolutely livid if my child had done this. I probably would have called Metro myself to teach him/her a lesson that defacing property (with or without permission) is wrong and deserves punishment. Instead, what does Jeremy get? He gets to be on local TV, in the newspapers, and then on national TV. All the while, his mother plays "victim" to the gullible media hogging as much air time and newsprint space as she can get her hands on. Instead, what she should be doing is taking responsibility for her son's debacle and teaching him that every action has a consequence.
