She says neither the police or school officers made an effort to contact her. She was at fault for not keeping the school informed of the current phone number. What if Jeremy had been taken ill or seriously hurt or needed surgery as soon as possible? Were the police to go all over town with a loudspeaker searching for her?
She says that he son isn't sleeping or eating well. Who dragged his across the country for talk shows, upsetting his normal routine? Who is teaching him that it is OK to damage other people's property? What values is he getting? Can't pay? Community service might be good for both of them. How about picking up trash from parks and streets? Boy Scouts do this.
