1966 - Muhammad Ali retains his world heavyweight title when he beats George Chuvalo with a 15-round decision at Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto.

1981 - Louisiana Tech routs Tennessee 79-59 for the AIAW basketball title.

1982 - Michael Jordan's jump shot with 16 seconds remaining gives North Carolina a 63-62 victory over Georgetown in the NCAA championship game.
