Andrew J. Andruzis, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Pittston, Pa. A resident for 24 years, he was an airline chef, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sun City Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Tom Pugliese of Roscoe, Ill., and Joseph Pugliese of Belleville, N.J.; one daughter, Mary Meier of Littleton, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. rosary in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church. 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

William E. 'Bud' Baker Jr.

William E. "Bud" Baker Jr., 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1953. A resident for 10 years, he was a truck driver for a construction company and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Betty E. Baker, and one brother, James D. Baker, both of Las Vegas; and five sisters, Donna Batemon of Las Vegas, Billie Jo Baker and Christie Sambrano, both of El Paso, Texas, Sharon Wallace of Alabama and Marianne Wagnon of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Graveside services will be 8:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Mary Marjorie Butterfield

Mary Marjorie Butterfield, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Evansville, Ind. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Linda Cassar of Michigan and Donna Owen of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two brothers, John Toon of St. Louis and Charles Toon of Evansville; one sister, Betty Bargar of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Indiana.

John E. Cooper

John E. Cooper, 81, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 10, 1917, in La Jara, Colo. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion, Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies and the VFW.

He is survived by one siser, Carol Lymo of Henderson; and one brother, Roy Cooper of Fairfield, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Sam 'Bo' Cross Jr.

Sam 'Bo' Cross Jr., 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1922, in Calhoun, Ark. A resident for 29 years, he was a hotel cook.

He is survived by three sons, Otis Dean Cross of Arkansas and Sam Cross III and Anthony Cross, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Arlene Cross of North Las Vegas, Darlene Cross of Atlanta, Lorraine Cross of St. Paul, Minn., and Sondra Banks of Las Vegas; two brothers, Charlie Cross and Hozy Cross, both of Seattle; and five sisters, Pearl Harris of Stockton, Calif., Earline Shields of Dallas and Idora Moffett, Lucy Cross and Katherine Vasser, all of Seattle.

Visitation was scheduled until 2 p.m. services today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Gertrude Dewalt

Gertrude Dewalt, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 17, 1904, in Plaza, N.D. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia M. Cardinalli of Las Vegas; one son, Donald Dewalt of Poulsbo, Wash.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Barbara Gilmore

Barbara Gilmore, 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1938, in Hatton, Ark. A resident for 31 years, she was an office manager for a bookkeeper.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee Keeler of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Wendy Chapman of Syracuse, N.Y.; one son, Randy Gilmore of Las Vegas; three sisters, Gladys, Maxine and Leslie, all of Oregon; two brothers, Hilton of California and Warren of Oregon; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

Opal V. Gravillo

Opal V. Gravillo, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 27, 1909, in Byron, Okla. A resident for 36 years, she was an accountant for many years at various local casinos.

She is survived by one son, Robert D. Fink of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Daniela E. Hall

Daniela E. Hall, 60, of Las Vegas died Nov. 29 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1937, in New York. A resident for 39 years, she was a 21 dealer.

She is survived by one daughter, Dana K. Hall; her mother, Gerri Schwartz; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Maple Jean Hansen

Maple Jean Hansen, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born July 17, 1913, in West Virginia. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, S. Duane Keiser of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Geraldine Sophia Hopkins

Geraldine Sophia Hopkins, 91, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 26, 1907, in Marion, Ind. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Hopkins of Las Vegas and James Hopkins of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, June Ritter of Casey, Ill.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Yetta Lessinger

Yetta Lessinger, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 27, 1916, in New York. A resident for seven months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred.

George G. 'Gerry' Malburg

George G. 'Gerry' Malburg, 31, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1967, in Cleveland. A resident for 20 years, he was a church volunteer.

He is survived by his parents, Patricia and George Malburg, one sister, Tracey Malburg, and one brother, Clint Malburg, all of Las Vegas; one niece and one nephew.

Bernice 'Bebe' Melnikov

Bernice 'Bebe' Melnikov, 89, of Bozeman, Mont., died Monday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 6, 1909, in Milwaukee. A former Las Vegas resident from 1963 until 1990, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Adler of Bozeman.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Lucille McCurdy

Lucille McCurdy, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1920, in Waurika, Okla. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Leona Lucille McCurdy of Las Vegas and Penny Lee Wilcox of San Diego; one brother, Walter LeRoy Caddell of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 4 p.m. services Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Sam Nakanishi

Sam Nakanishi, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 12, 1924, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he owned Osaka Restaurant, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Japanese-American Club of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Aiko; one daughter, Joy Faas-Nakanishi, one son, Gene Nakanishi, and two sisters, Mary Sue Taguchi and Alyce Louie, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, George Nakanishi of Las Vegas and Jack Nakanishi of Clover City, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Amber Christine Palacios

Amber Christine Palacios, 20, of Las Vegas died Dec. 2 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 30, 1978, in Corpus Christi, Texas. A resident for 15 years, she was a student.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa C. Palacios, her fiance, Jon Mace, her mother, Charlene Larioz, and one sister, Cheryl C. Palacios, all of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Phillips of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Larioz of Washington state; and her great-grandmothers, Frances Larioz of Arizona and Sanjuana Cantu of Texas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens.

Glenda L. Purdy, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1912, in Sutton, Neb. A resident for 56 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Baker of Las Vegas and Geraldine Blevins of Redlands, Wash.; two sons, Forest Purdy of Wickiup, Ariz., and Roland Purdy of Elko; one brother, Paul Reutzel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Charlie Relyea

Charlie Relyea, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 19, 1930, in Kingston, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired operating engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Anne Spink of Chowchilla, Calif., and Amy Holcomb of Bend, Ore.; three sons, Charles F. Relyea Jr. and Robert Griffin, both of Poway, Calif., and Charles Griffin of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Schlieter of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

John Sullivan

John Sullivan, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Madison County, Wood River, Ill. A resident for four years, he was a contractor.

He is survived by one son, Steve Sullivan; one daughter, Deborah O'Neil; seven brothers, William G. Sullivan, Fazra Sullivan, Dwell Sullivan, P.B. Sullivan, Veron Sullivan, Davied Sullivan and Charles Sullivan; four sisters, Pruda Sullivan, Herma Sullivan, Ruth Sullivan and Sherly Sullivan; and three grandchildren.

Lee Thompson, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born March 13, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for three years, he was a corrections officer for the New York City prison system.

He is survived by one brother, Paul Thompson of Port Orchard, Wash.
