The Las Vegas Fire Department was called to the scene at 4:37 a.m. by someone who said their apartment door was on fire. The caller said they would have to break a window to get out, then the phone went dead.
Firefighters arrived to find the door to the one-story brick apartment on fire. Investigators said a flammable liquid was poured on the outside of the front door, then set on fire.
Damage was estimated at $5,000.
The occupants could give no reason why someone would want to set the apartment on fire.
