Las Vegas Fire Department investigators are working with homicide detectives in the case.
Firefighters were called to the scene west of the Strip at 2:52 a.m. on a report of a van on fire. They found smoke coming from the inside of an older model Dodge van.
The victim was sitting behind the steering wheel, unresponsive. Efforts to revive him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A chair, smoldering in the rear of the van, was quickly extinguished.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
