Sarah Pena Ascasio, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 9, 1916, in San Lorenzo, N.M. A resident for seven years, she was a retired payroll clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Audrey Morrison-Allen of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; two brothers, Fred Pena of Los Angeles and Dan Pena of San Lorenzo; two sisters, Lupe Domingues of San Lorenzo and Clorinda Montoya of Los Angeles; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

BETTY BERMINGHAM-WILLIAMSON

Betty Bermingham-Williamson, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Buhl, Idaho. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired investment company owner, a volunteer for SCORE and a member of the British Commonwealth Club of Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Eric G.; three daughters, Debbie Butler of Omaha, Neb., Sheri Vanderhoof of Boonville, Mo., and Jo Sempeck of Denver; two brothers, Joseph Konopik and Gene Konopik, both of Omaha; one sister, Margy Crumley of Washington, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

LOVIE MAE BOYD

Lovie Mae Boyd, 83, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Greenville, Miss. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John Sr.; six daughters, Georgia Peters, Lillian Rhodes and Catherine Boyd, all of North Las Vegas, Virginia Hall and Johnnie Boyd, both of Las Vegas, and Earline Boyd of Greenville; three sons, Joe Boyd and John Boyd Jr., both of North Las Vegas, and Charles Boyd of Chicago; 50 grandchildren, 122 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Church of God and Christ. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

LUCILLE 'TUTTER' COOKS

Lucille "Tutter" Cooks, 57, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 7, 1941, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 43 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Myers of Las Vegas and Toni Johnson of Washington, D.C.; one brother, James Cooks of Washington; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

PATRICIA ROSE DELAPENIA

Patricia Rose Delapenia, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 11, 1942, in Kauai, Hawaii. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her companion, Ronald S. Ignacio of Las Vegas; two daughters, Jonelle Laplante of Kissamee, Fla., and Lisa Ikeda of Whitmore, Hawaii; two sons, Destri Rego of Koloa, Hawaii, and Dwayne Rego of Lihue, Hawaii; her mother, Anna Fune of Kalaheo, Hawaii; three brothers, James Fune of Halamalu, Hawaii, Herbert Fune of Kalaheo and Stanley Fune of California; one sister, Cathleen Broyles of Kekaha, Hawaii; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will be in Hawaii. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

LUCIE M. GARMAN

Lucie M. Garman, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 21, 1918, in Idaho. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired PBX operator.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Garman of Las Vegas; three brothers, William Tavenner of Phoenix, Jack Tavenner of Medford, Ore., and Harry Tavenner of Guadalajara, Mexico; and one granddaughter, Clover Garman of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

DONNA LOUISE GLORA

Donna Louise Glora, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 13. 1942, in Hays, Kan. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Sr.; one son, Michael A. Glora Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Patricia G. Chambers of Singapore; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens.

GENEVA ELSIE GUYETTE

Geneva Elsie Guyette, 89, of Henderson died May 29 in Henderson. She was born June 12, 1908, in Illinois. A resident for 55 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Guyette-Wardlaw of Henderson; two sons, Robert L. Guyette of Boulder City and David E. Guyette of Las Vegas; one brother, Leland Evans of West Salem, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

T. MAUDE HARSHBARGER

T. Maude Harshbarger, 88, of Topeka, Kan., died Tuesday in a Topeka retirement center. She was born Oct. 25, 1909. A former Las Vegas resident from 1968-1991, she was a bookkeeper at the Stardust hotel-casino and for the city of Topeka and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Elvin D. Keltner of Topeka; one sister, Mary Ruth Owens of Plattsburg, Mo.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, Topeka, is handling arrangements.

LURE C. JAMES

Lure C. James, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 15, 1939, in Jackson, Miss. A resident for 17 years, he was a laborer and a member of Local 872.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie Mae; one son, Roy L. James, and one daughter, Lakisha N. James, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Elisha James of Magee, Miss.; six sisters, Willene Mack of Pearl, Miss., Daisy Wallace of Brandon, Miss., Mildred Baggett and Jean High, both of Las Vegas, Demple Kemp of Mendenhall, Miss., and Edwin Harry of Saginaw, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

ROBERT KEMP

Robert Kemp, 62, of Las Vegas, died May 23 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 2, 1935. A resident for 20 years, he was a disabled veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Kemp, and one sister, Geraldine Armstrong, both of California.

Graveside services were scheduled today at 8:30 a.m. in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services handled arrangements.

THEODORE D. MALAMATOS

Theodore D. Malamatos, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born June 11, 1928, in Gary, Ind. A resident for nine years, he was a retired steel company manager and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kindina; one daughter, Mersene McKinney of Las Vegas; two sons, Harry T. Malamatos of Virginia Beach, Va., and Dan Malamatos a k a Donald Cooper of Hobart, Ind.; one sister, Victoria Peronis of Lowell, Ind.; two brothers, Michael Malamatos of Merrillville, Ind., and John Malamatos of Surprise, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. service in St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Services also will be 8:30 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

NORMA LEE MARTINEZ

Norma Lee Martinez, 70, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 8, 1928, in St. Louis. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; one daughter, Paula Levin of Redondo Beach, Calif.; one son, Gary DiMeo of Torrance, Calif.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

RONALD LEE MAY

Ronald Lee May, 57, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born June 20, 1940, in Los Angeles. He was an electrician, a Marine Corps veteran and past president of the Wild Horse Association.

He is survived by his companion, Marlene Lande of Las Vegas.

HAROLD MCKINNEY

Harold McKinney, 92, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 12, 1905, in Kansas. A resident for 12 years, he was a hotel baker and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Worth of Henderson.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

MARINE THERESSA PITTMAN

Marine Theressa Pittman, 73, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 19, 1925, in Chilton Falls, Texas. A resident for 34 years, she was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Sr.; three sons, Rudolph Pittman Jr. of San Antonio and Larry Pittman Sr. and Stanley Clark Pittman, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home.

MARY A. ROONEY

Mary A. Rooney, 85, of Salinas, Calif., died Tuesday in Ontario, Calif. She was born May 21, 1913, in Pennsylvania. A Las Vegas resident for two years until 1997, she was a waitress at the Reno Hilton where she lived from 1960-1994.

She is survived by three daughters, Sister Maureen Rooney of Salinas, Patricia Dalla Rosa of Oklahoma City and Dr. Ardyce Grant of Claremont, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona, Calif., is handling arrangements.

JOSEPH MARC SCHMOUTEY

Joseph Marc Schmoutey, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Kingman, Ariz. He was born May 28, 1951, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was an engineer for the state of Nevada and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marleen; two daughters, Joy Schmoutey and Brook Stephens, three sons, Terrence Schmoutey, Jarrett Stephens and Jordan Stephens, and his mother, Bea Schmoutey, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 7-9 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Desert View LDS Church. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

ELIZABETH IRENE SZABO

Elizabeth Irene Szabo, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 24 years, she was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Toledo, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, Louis M.; three daughters, Julianne J. Puchalsky and Elizabeth A. Liles, both of Las Vegas, and Nancy A. Lagrandeur of Michigan; one son, Michael L. Szabo of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

WILTON C. TATE

Wilton C. Tate, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Wausau, Va. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired pharmaceutical shipper and receiver, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Southern Nevada Bowling Association.

He is survived by his wife, E. Lois; two sons, Ronald Tate of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Bryan Tate of Las Vegas; two daughters, Linda Belfield of Lansdale, Pa., and Brenda Tate of Ambler, Pa.; his mother, Anna Tate of Wynmoor, Pa.; two sisters, Vera Dean and Fannie Wailliams, both of Ambler; one brother, Frank Tate of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

ARLO WESLEY ZIMMERMAN

Arlo Wesley Zimmerman, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Decatur, Ill. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired bartender.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice L.; two sons, Rick Zimmerman and Don Zimmerman, one daughter, Cindy Zimmerman, and one granddaughter, Nichole Belue, all of Las Vegas.
