Evelyn B. Bittker, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 2, 1907, in New York City. A resident for 30 years, she was the retired owner-operator of the Eldorado guest ranch in Tucson, Ariz., from 1950-1969, a member of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropy, Hadassah and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Sholom.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by graveside services in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Irving Blumberg

Irving Blumberg, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local convalescent center. He was born Dec. 22, 1911, in New York City. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired chemical engineer for a glass and plastics company and a member of the Rotary Club in Camarillo, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; three daughters, Roxane Spitzer of Nashville, Tenn., Marian McCabe of Las Vegas and Susan Shaw of Scarsdale, N.Y.; one son, David Blumberg of Key Biscayne, Fla.; one sister, Ethel Weinberg, and one brother, Julius Ringel, both of New York; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

The family suggests donations to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., 1501 Northwest Ninth Ave., Miami, FL 33136-1494.

Marilyn Diane Lester Bracken

Marilyn Diane Lester Bracken, 61, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born May 27, 1937, in Santa Cruz, Calif. A resident for 45 years, she was a state government insurance investigator, past recent president for the Loyal Order of Moose and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She is survived by her husband, Dean K.; three daughters, Deanna Bracken, Dawn Bracken and Joan Bracken, and two sons, Dean Bracken Jr. and Scott Bracken, all of Henderson; one sister, Shirley Miller of Valley Spring, Calif.; three brothers, Bruce Lester of Lindsay, Calif., Richard Lester of Forest Hills, Calif., and John Lester of Henderson; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Friday in Desert Rose Relief Society Room, Desert Rose Drive and Pacific Ave.

Edwin Buzick

Edwin Buzick, 81, of Reno died April 5 in Sparks. He was born Oct. 16, 1917, in California. A longtime Nevada resident, he was a motel owner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl.

He is survived by one brother, Halley D. Buzick Jr. of Pahrump.

A private burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

George F. Coulon

George F. Coulon, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired World War II and Korean War Navy chief petty officer, a member of American Legion Post 8 and Navy Fleet Reserve Association.

He is survived by one brother, John F. Coulon of Riverside, Calif.

Robert Dexter 'Poppie' Dilworth

Robert Dexter "Poppie" Dilworth, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Warren, Ohio. A resident for five years, he was a retired maintenance worker for an auto manufacturer, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Road Runners and YMCA.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Thomas Harold Dilworth of Kinsman, Ohio; two daughters, Dorothy Donna Dilworth of Las Vegas and Bobbie Jean Dilworth of Cortland, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Moore Dilworth of Cortland; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Debbie Hendricks

Debbie Hendricks, 46, of Henderson died April 5 in Henderson. She was born April 21, 1952, in Detroit. A resident for eight years, she worked for an ice cream company.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

George Edward Jennings

George Edward Jennings, 45, of Las Vegas died April 5 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 30, 1953, in Kansas. A resident for 16 years, he was a self-employed plumber.

He is survived by three children, Michawn Jennings, Causha Jennings and Kyle Jennings, all of California.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Eugenia Dunbar McCall

Eugenia Dunbar McCall, 95, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1904, in Ellenton, S.C. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired Flamingo Hilton showroom waitress of more than 30 years, a member of the Culinary Union, Daughters of the American Revolution and the French Huguenot Society.

She is survived by three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Lester J. Schaefer

Lester J. Schaefer, 88, of Henderson died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 13, 1910, in Lebanon, Ill. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired real estate broker, a World War II Coast Guard veteran and a life member of Las Vegas Elks Lodge 1468 for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda; one daughter, Sherri Schaefer of Annapolis, Md.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

Frank W. Schroeppel

Frank W. Schroeppel, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for five years, he was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; two daughters, Carmella Ann Keiss of San Diego and Catherine Marie Fish of Jamul, Calif.; one sister, Lois Self of Sioux City; and one grandchild.

Jennifer Ann Campbell Smith

Jennifer Ann Campbell Smith, 29, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 25, 1969, in Anchorage, Alaska. A resident for three years, she was a management analyst for Clark County and held a master's degree in public administration.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew R.; one son, Ryan Campbell Smith of Las Vegas; her parents, Richard and Jean Campbell, one brother, Joshua Driscoll Campbell, and one sister, Emily Owen Campbell, all of Athens, Ga.; and her grandfather, Herbert William Campbell of Billerica, Mass.

Lizzie L. Thomas

Lizzie L. Thomas, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born March 28, 1931, in Lake Washington, Miss. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James L.; six sons, Larry L. Thomas, Charley L. Thomas, Troy L. Thomas, Norman L. Thomas, Lamonte L. Thomas and Edgar L. Thomas, and five daughters, Shell A.L. Carter, Judith A.L. Smith, Yvonne M.L. Thomas, Loria L. Thomas and Tanya L. Thomas, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Joseph Duncans of Chicago; one sister, Hazel Duncans of Greenville, Miss.; 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Irene V. Thornburg

Irene V. Thornburg, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1908, in Blue Mound, Kan. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Crawford and JoElla Gormley, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Juan Diego Torres Jr.

Juan Diego Torres Jr., 2, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 5, 1997, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Juan H. and Patricia Torres, one brother, Edward Garcia Torres, and three sisters, Claudia P. Torres, Vanessa Torres and Brenda N. Torres, all of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
