In imposing the sentence, Elko District Judge Michael Memeo ignored a plea bargain agreement that called for no prison time for her.
Prosecutors agreed to recommend probation in return for restitution and her guilty plea in June to a felony embezzlement charge.
But Memeo rejected the deal, citing the amount of money embezzled and her violation of the public trust.
The Nevada Supreme Court appointed Memeo to hear the case in May after two White Pine district judges excused themselves, citing the appearance of impropriety.
