Planning council to decide on Nevada HAND project

Nevada HAND, a nonprofit housing development company, will go before the North Las Vegas Planning Commission Wednesday night asking for approval of a site plan to develop a low-income senior apartment complex.

According to site plans, Buena Vista Springs III will have 36 one-bedroom apartments and 20 two-bedroom apartments at the southwest corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Helen Avenue.

Funding for the project is a combination of private sources, tax credits, and county funds.

Michael Mullin, president of the organization, said if the site plan is approved, construction should begin in February. He expects the complex to be open by November of next year.

Nevada HAND has been in Las Vegas for five years, helping build more than 500 low-income senior housing units around the city.
