Workshops to help unemployed find jobs

Free weeklong workshops will be offered beginning July 12 and 26 to assist people who recently lost their jobs to obtain new employment.

HELP of Southern Nevada will provide that assistance to those who lost their primary source of income as a result of layoffs, divorce, a death in the family or disability.

The Displaced Homemaker Program helps both men and women evaluate their employment needs and sharpen job interview skills. Job placement and referrals also are available.

The workshop seminars will be held at HELP offices, 953 E. Sahara Ave., Suite 208 in the ST&P Building in Commercial Center.

Among the assistance offered will be resume development and self-esteem enhancement.

Local employers also will visit the seminars and provide students with tips on how to put their best foot forward to get the jobs they want.

Also, for those who qualify, additional assistance in the form of bus tokens, food vouchers, child care vouchers, personal hygiene products and suitable clothing for interviews will be available at no cost.

To register for the workshops call 369-4357, ext. 231.
