Labyrinth uses to be studied

A labyrinth workshop and walk will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Club Sport, 2100 Olympic Ave., Henderson.

Participants will learn about the history and current uses of the labyrinth, an ancient symbol for peace and introspection.

The event is free and open to the public.

Red Rock to host photo contest

A Red Rock Canyon photo contest is about to begin, Bureau of Land Management Ranger Gina Mele said.

Photos will be accepted on Sept. 13 and 14. All color photos must be of nature or wildlife taken the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area.

The Las Vegas Astronomical Society

will present slide presentations and members will share their telescopes to view objects in the night sky from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center. For more information, call 515-5350.
