Two Henderson Multigenerational Center pools will be closed for upgrades starting Sunday. Those who can't go a week without getting wet can dive into the Whitney Ranch indoor pool, 1575 Galleria Drive, until the center pools re-open.
The competition pool will be closed Dec. 7-14. The indoor pool will be closed Dec. 9-12, according to the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. Workers are installing new drain covers.
All Henderson pools will be upgraded with this new equipment before reopening in spring or summer.
The drain covers are required by a 2007 pool and spa safety act. The legislation also required states to adopt comprehensive pool safety regulations to protect children from unsafe pool and spa drains.
