Bishop Gorman senior Sam Womack is looking for a college that will give him the best chance to continue his football career.

On Jan. 2, the offensive lineman will have an opportunity to get his name out on a national stage when he competes in the third annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, a high-school football all-star game in South Carolina.

Womack was one of 88 players selected for the game, which will be televised at 5 p.m. on Fox College Sports.

"I'm still looking at schools and keeping my options open," Womack said. "West coast teams know about me, but I don't think I've really gotten my name out to schools in the East. So, I'm hoping this is my chance."

Womack has been recruited by Southern Utah, Portland, Air Force and Navy but has not been offered a scholarship.

"I got an e-mail letting me know I'd been chosen and then my coach told me and then I got a letter at school," Womack said. "It was kind of crazy. But it's a great honor to be able to represent my school and the city. We know Bishop Gorman is a great school, but now we can show it on a bigger stage."

Womack will be joined in the game by Gorman teammates Charles Childers, a defensive back, and safety John Therrell, both UNLV commits. Silverado defensive end Keenan Graham, who committed to UCLA, was selected but will not to attend, Silverado coach Andy Ostolaza said.

Another Gael, Oklahoma-bound defensive lineman Justin Chaisson, will also compete in an all-star game, the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 4 in Orlando, Fla.

Chaisson was one of 80 selected for the game, which will be televised by ESPN.
