Carbon footprints and cap and trade are a part of a scheme just like Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.
A cap and trade system could, in effect, impose taxes on oil, gas and coal that would increase the costs of driving, food and heating our homes. Then politicians would allow unlimited exploration for fossil fuels because they could tax it.
This is social engineering and using force in place of our free market, free enterprise capitalistic system.
After this big government tax scheme is in place, the welfare state would redistribute wealth through increased unemployment benefits, subsidies and income tax refunds for people who don’t pay taxes.
Shame on the 111th Congress if they pass this socialistic, unproductive legislation. You and I can’t alter the global climate because China, India and Indonesia will continue to pollute the atmosphere by burning coal.
