Fire officials say smoking materials might be to blame for a garage fire that displaced a Henderson family Thursday afternoon.
The Henderson Fire Department responded at 1:25 p.m. to 1902 Allen Grove Court, which is near Valle Verde Drive and Silver Springs Parkway, and found smoke coming from the garage of a single-story home.
One resident was home at the time of the blaze but was outside when fire officials arrived. No one was injured in the fire, which was under control in five minutes.
Damage to the house was estimated at $80,000 with damage to its contents assessed at about $30,000, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but authorities said they found smoking materials in the garage.
