Fatal crash
A two-car collision near the intersection of Durango and Boseck drives left one person dead Friday afternoon when a driver failed to stop at a red light, investigators said.
Metro Police said 18-year-old Kimberly Williams of Las Vegas was traveling in a 2009 Jeep Wrangler northbound on Durango Drive at about 1 p.m. when the victim, driving a 1998 Saturn, entered the intersection on a green traffic signal. Williams failed to stop for a red traffic signal and entered the intersection, striking the victim’s vehicle, police said.
The 58-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified. Williams was taken to UMC with minor injuries.
This is the 21st traffic-related fatality in Metro Police’s jurisdiction this year.
