Two Metro Police officers involved in a shooting Friday night have been identified.
They are Metro detectives Jose Roman and Daniel Giersdorf, police said.
The two detectives weren't in uniform as they confronted a suspect near West Charleston Boulevard and South Rancho Drive about 10:04 p.m. Friday, police said.
Roman is 36 years old and has been with Metro Police since January 2004. Giersdorf is 40 years old and has been with Metro Police since March 1993, police said. Both are assigned to the Tourist Safety Unit.
One officer was injured during the shooting and both the suspect and the detective were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
