Metro Police believe the shooting death of an 18-year-old man at about 5:30 p.m. Monday in northeastern Las Vegas may be gang-related.

The man was found dead by his brother on a sidewalk near an alley at 4720 Cessna Avenue near Nellis Boulevard and Craig Road, Officer Ramon Denby said.

The man died from a gunshot wound to the head, Denby said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man as Jose Jimenez of Las Vegas, a spokeswoman said. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a homicide.

Metro homicide detectives and gang unit officers are searching for a man between 18 and 20 years old with a bald head, tall, thick build and wearing a white T-shirt.

Eyewitnesses told police the suspect may be driving a green Toyota Camry or Lexus with a partial Nevada license plate number of 561.

This shooting death may be a gang retaliation, Denby said.

Anyone with information about a possible suspect in this case is asked to call the Metro Police Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
