A man who tried on several pairs of shoes at a store in the 4900 block of East Charleston Boulevard went to the register and pulled out a handgun instead of paying, demanding money, Metro Police said.

The man walked into the store about 7 p.m. March 30 and pretended to be interested in buying a pair of shoes, police said. The man pulled out a black handgun and demanded cash from the clerk, who complied with his request, police said. He wore a Size 12.

The man ran out of the store to the west side of the building and was last seen going west on Charleston Boulevard, police said.

Police described the man as 25 to 30 years old, 6-foot-2-inches to 6-foot-4-inches tall, weighing 210 pounds with red hair. He was wearing a tan hooded jacket, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and had a long, red goatee.

Metro robbery detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying this suspect. Anyone with information is urged to call the Metro Police Robbery Section at (702) 828-3591, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
