Driver killed
A crash Thursday afternoon at Stephanie Street and Russell Road in Henderson killed a 41-year-old man.
Michael Davis of Las Vegas died at the scene after a purple Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving collided with a white Pontiac sedan in the intersection, Henderson Police said.
Davis was heading east on Russell about 3:30 p.m., police said. He appeared to be speeding and did not stop at a red light, police said.
The truck hit the westbound Pontiac, which was preparing to turn south onto Stephanie from Russell, and Davis was ejected, police said. He died of blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s office. Police believe he was not wearing a seat belt.
Police did not say whether the three occupants of the Pontiac were injured.
This is the seventh traffic related fatality in Henderson for 2009.
