Authorities say an investigation into a deadly April 4 crash of a resort's shuttle bus on Interstate 80 in the Sierra Nevada has slowed because they've been unable to interview the driver.
California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Skeen says there were some initial discussions with the driver at the scene about 20 miles west of Reno, but his medical condition has prevented a more thorough interview.
The bus, operated by the Resort at Squaw Creek just north of Lake Tahoe, veered off the freeway and rolled at least once, killing one passenger and injuring 24 others.
All the passengers were resort employees.
Resort officials say five people remained in the hospital, with one in serious condition and four in fair condition.
