Only about 565 days until the election and Nevada Democrats are not forgetting the lessons of 2008: They started early, spent a fortune and organized from the boardrooms to the union halls. So tonight they are holding the “first ever” — how exciting! — Democratic Party Organizing Convention. “This will be an opportunity for volunteers who were instrumental in our triumphs in 2008 and those who are getting involved in the party for the first time to join together to organize,” the party declared. And there will be a special guest speaker at the event to get the grass roots growing again. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who I understand has a race next year, is supposed to rev up the troops tonight at 7. They couldn’t find a better speaker?
