The issue between liberals and conservatives — Fox News or no Fox News — seems to be this: Conservatives don’t want to go where society is heading.
In times past, conservatives did not ultimately stop the freeing of the slaves, women’s suffrage, or the integration of schools. And, whether they like it or not, more states will legalize gay marriage, abortion will always be with us, and energy and natural resources conservation and environmental preservation will have to become a way of life.
Unfortunately, it is just as likely that ignorant people will always be fooled by propaganda, our children will be used as cannon fodder by our government and the rich will find a way to get richer at the expense of the rest of us.
Let’s stop fighting over the stuff that will happen anyway and work on what we really have the power to prevent.
