Now Obama knows what Bush faced

“President Barack Obama’s arrogant, unilateral approach to piracy has made the high seas less safe. By ignoring world opinion and employing his go-it-alone strategy, he has emboldened the pirates, made the world hate us, and provided an effective recruitment vehicle for piracy. A better means of dealing with this crisis would have been to address the root causes of piracy. Until we accept that it is our fault that young, educated, middle-class Somalis feel disenfranchised enough to become pirates, we will never win their hearts and minds. There are more pirates now than before Obama’s warmongering, cowboy military action.

“Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and the rest of the neo-libs should be brought up on war crimes charges in the World Court. Only then will the pirates begin to love us.”

Seems a little different now that the shoe is on the other foot, doesn’t it, Mr. Obama? It’s easier to politic than to actually govern. At some point we’ll be able to use the liberal chant “Obama lied and people died” when referencing the Iraqi war, since he plans to leave 50,000 troops there, plus add thousands to the Afghan war.
