Metro Police discovered an unattended baby girl in a stroller Wednesday in the northeast Las Vegas Valley.

Officers arrived at East Charleston Boulevard and Pecos Road at about noon and found a baby girl between 8 and 12 months old, police said. The baby weighed 27 pounds and was in a dark blue stroller with distinct yellow diamond patterns.

She was taken into protective custody and placed in Child Haven, police said.

The baby girl was wearing a white knit cap with two tones of pink, a green hooded parka lined with pink and green stars, a long-sleeved light pink knit shirt, gray light-weight pants with pink stripes and an elastic waistband, black Jordan tennis shoes, sized 4C, and dark pink mittens with a purple and pink stripe tied with a shoestring.

An aqua blue knapsack was tied to the back of the stoller on a beaded string.

Police also found a stuffed animal tied with a plastic strand of beads. The word "Criss" was written in pink across the front of the stuffed animal.

Metro Police are asking anyone who has any information about the baby or anyone who cared for the infant to call (702) 828-5678.
