Letter to the editor:

If you don’t like it, just don’t watch it

I’ve been reading with amusement the recent controversy over Fox News. I can’t believe this much effort and disdain can be directed toward a news channel. It does go to prove one thing I learned on Fox — if you disagree with the left wing of the country, you will be persecuted. There is no intelligent discourse with the left.

I’ve also discovered something else. With more than 200 channels offered by most cable providers, if you don’t like what you are watching, turn the dial to something you do like. For the committed left, it would be NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS and others. But, no, controlling most of the major newspapers and the national networks and most cable outlets is not good enough for the Kool-Aid drinkers. They won’t be happy until they force everyone to think as they do.

Please remember, 58 million people in this country did not vote for liberal thinking last November. You will never convince conservative thinkers that abortion on demand, gay marriage, and saddling our children and grandchildren with wasteful spending and pork is the right course for this country.

So while you’re up refilling your glass with the Kool-Aid, just change the channel. Watching Fox News when you hate it either makes you a masochist or crazy. You figure it out.

P.S. My husband, a lifelong Democrat, voted Republican for the first time in his adult life in November. The reason: His party has gone too far left and is no longer in touch with mainstream Americans.
