High atop the Rio last Thursday, the speakers at VooDoo kept crapping out during Spundae’s Full Moon party. While Levon James was mid-set on the outdoor patio, other local DJs scrambled to diagnose the problem. Rumor has it some yahoo in the Rio pulled the fire alarm (though we never heard said alarm …), thus shutting down the club’s sound system. The crowd was determined to keep dancing, and a temporary fix—aiming the monitors at attendees—kept the party going during Jordan Stevens’ set. But the situation wasn’t remedied until after headliner Roger Shah began. Although, had the roof actually been on fire, at least we’d have gotten to hear some sweet tunes before the motherf--ker burned.
VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub The glass elevator ride to VooDoo Lounge, atop the Rio Hotel, is not for the faint of heart, as it offers a bird’s eye view of Vegas. Once inside, black light voodoo drawings in the winding hallways draw the eye’s attention and
the bar area, decorated with candles, lends an air of mystery. Check out the entertaining flare bartenders who mix up tempting concoctions like the Love Potion or the Witch Doctor, or take in the view from VIP seating that flanks the bar on either side. VooDoo lounge also offers a stage area, featuring live music performances. The outdoor area has breathtaking views of the Strip as well as ample VIP seating near the DJ booth. A massive iron
staircase leads to the exclusive upper level on the very top of the club. The Lounge opens at 5 p.m. and the club vibes pick up around 10 p.m. 3700 W. Flamingo Rd. Las Vegas,
