Updated Monday, April 20, 2009 | 6:27 p.m.

It's official: the Las Vegas Valley hit 91 degrees Monday, making it the warmest day of the year.

Monday's temperature was above normal since the average temperature is 78 degrees.

The record high temperature for April 20 is 97 degrees set in 1994. The lowest temperature for the date is 34 degrees in 1966.

Temperatures will range from the low to mid 90s for most of the week until a storm system that is expected to bring showers north of the valley arrives Thursday night and into Friday.

Lows this week should range from the low to mid 60s, the weather service said.

By the weekend daytime highs are expected to drop back into the 80s.
