Shooting

A man was injured today a bus stop in the western Las Vegas Valley in a shooting police say might be gang-related, Metro Police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive. The man was shot once in the upper left shoulder, police said.

The victim was seen leaning into the suspect's car at about 1 p.m. near a bus stop on D Street, between its intersections with Washington and Adams avenues, Morgan said. While leaning into the car, the victim was shot in the left shoulder.

The gunman, who was in the car, left the scene in an Oldsmobile. He drove down a nearby alley, where he abandoned the car and fled on foot, Morgan said. The car is described as a four-door, white, older-model Oldsmobile with California license plates.

Morgan said the suspect in the shooting is believed to be in hiding.
