Metro Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who tried to rob a store in the northeast Las Vegas Valley, threatening the clerk by saying he had a bomb.

At 6:30 p.m. March 30 the man entered a store and asked a clerk for assistance, police said. The clerk was closing down the business and was unable to help him. An hour later, he approached the same clerk and handed her a note through a window.

The note, written in Spanish, said that man had a bomb and demanded money, police said. The clerk gave the note back to the man and went to a back office.

After the man failed to receive any money, he left the store through the front door and fled on foot. He is wanted for attempted robbery, police said.

The man is described as Hispanic, 35 to 40 years of age and 5-foot-7-inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, green shirt, blue jeans and a green baseball cap.

Metro detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Robbery Section at (702) 828-3591, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
